Join us this September for the Student Voice in Action Symposium — a virtual gathering of students, educators, researchers, and changemakers from around the world. Over two weeks and eight interactive sessions, we’ll explore how student voice is being activated in classrooms, schools, communities, and systems. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or looking to deepen your practice, this symposium offers real stories, proven strategies, and bold questions about what it means to share power with young people.

We are now inviting proposals for interactive sessions that spark dialogue, share practice, and challenge assumptions. Registrations for this event will open in August.

Call for Proposals

We are now inviting proposals for interactive sessions that spark dialogue, share practice, and challenge assumptions.

Proposals may address (but are not limited to) the following themes:

  • Student leadership and shared decision-making in schools

  • Co-design, co-research, or co-governance models

  • Voice and inclusion: disability, LGBTIQ+, race, language, and place

  • First Nations knowledges and decolonising student voice

  • Youth-led climate action and sustainability movements

  • Participation in policy, curriculum, or civics

  • Pedagogies of agency: rethinking evidence, instruction, and assessment

  • Partnerships across generations: teachers, students, families, and systems

Sessions that offer practical tools, critical reflections, or stories of change are strongly encouraged.

Each session will run for 30-45 minutes and may take the form of:

  • Practice-based presentations

  • Panel discussions or student-led dialogues

  • Co-facilitated workshops

  • Provocations followed by audience Q&A

  • Lightning talk series (short presentations on a shared theme)

Presenters will be supported with a facilitator, tech support, and guidance to ensure sessions are engaging and inclusive.
