Open Access Policy
1. Scope
1.1. The Australian Council for Student Voice Ltd. (ACSV) is committed to the principles of open access to promote the continual sharing of knowledge, practice, and innovation in education.
1.2. Accordingly, ACSV adopts the following policy regarding the accessibility and reuse of any and all research and resources produced or published by us.
1.3. This policy excludes all images, photographs, logos, and other brand assets, which may not be used or reproduced by any person or organisation without explicit written permission from the ACSV.
2. Our Commitment
2.1. ACSV commits to making all of its outputs, including publications, reports, datasets, educational tools, and frameworks, freely accessible to the public, subject to legal, ethical, and privacy considerations.
2.2. We will promote open access values among our staff, contributors, and partners, and encourage them to adopt similar practices wherever possible.
3. Terms of Use for Open Access Materials
3.1. Unless otherwise stated, all ACSV outputs may be shared, cited, and adapted for non-commercial and/or educational purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to both the author(s) and the Australian Council for Student Voice Ltd.
3.2. Users must clearly indicate if changes were made to any original work and ensure that adaptations do not misrepresent or distort the intent of the original content.
3.3. Materials may not be used for commercial gain, sold, or incorporated into products or services offered for profit without express written permission from ACSV.
3.4. Materials must not be used for the purpose of training artificial intelligence technologies or systems.
3.5. You may not apply any digital rights management tools, legal terms, or technological restrictions that limit others from accessing, sharing, or using ACSV materials in line with this policy.
4. Monitoring, Compliance, and Review
4.1. ACSV will monitor the use and reuse of its open access resources and provide support to contributors and partners in meeting this policy’s requirements.
4.2. Exceptions to this policy may be granted on a case-by-case basis for legitimate reasons including, but not limited to, privacy, cultural sensitivity, intellectual property restrictions, or legal obligations. All exceptions must be approved by the ACSV National Office.
4.3. This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains relevant, up to date, and aligned with evolving norms in open knowledge, digital ethics, and educational equity.
